Sharon Yvonne Stone is the sole child from Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, who was a manufacturer of tool and dies, as well as a former employee of a plant. Her birth date was 10 March 1958, at Meadville Pennsylvania. Stone has three brothers: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone was thought to be gifted academically in her early years and entered second grade at five. She earned a high school diploma at Saegertown in Saegertown in Pennsylvania in 1975. Winner of Miss Crawford County, she also participated in Miss Pennsylvania. Miss Pennsylvania Beauty Pageant. Stone as well as her aunt relocated to New Jersey to New Jersey to start a modelling career in 1977. The two signed on with the Ford Modeling Agency after a short period of time.
